Season ends with a defensive melt down!
BTS lost to Penn Metal in the end of year single elimination playoff round. The bats did their job but the gloves had a tough day. All in all the season ended with BTS as the last men standing proving no one does what we do better than we do!
BTS advances past ECC Roofing
BTS used strong hitting and solid fielding to get past ECC Roofing at Mt. Ephraim fields. The team was set for victory and after enjoyed a mellow buzz! Lucas Jones, Brad Strauss, Whiskey Dave Petitt and Miguel Luzanaris all went yard!
BTS loses rubber game 3 to Ante Up
The highlights of the day were all on the grill, oven, and fryers as the BTS 2017 cook off was the bright spot of the day as Ante Up took the one game for the playoff win. Cook off champion was JD, followed by second place last years champion Buke and his third year of third place was Brian Wonderlin. A great time was had by all!
BTS splits for playoffs with Ante Up!
Frank Marciano hit a walk off inside the park homerun to take game one of the best of three playoff. Game 2 Ante Up bats came alive before the rain put the day on hold with the split.
BTS splits with Sloppy Seconds
BTS bats came out hot in game 1 but cooled for game two allowing for the Sunday split. Rookie Bill Thompson continues his super hot start for BTS going 7 for 7 on the day. Franky Panky hit a monster home. Game 1 the top seven batters were a perfect 17 for 17.
BTS bats come alive with a sweep over E-13
BTS led by Lucas Jones four bombs exploded scoring 25 runs in each game for a total of 50 for the day. It is off to the honeymoon after that sweet day! It looks like marriage has paid off for another BTS player!
BTS splits with Curran's Sea Box
In a seesaw first game BTS came out on top. Game two the bats went silent as BTS could only scrounge up ten runs for the split. The defense was the highlight as in fourteen innings BTS turned five double plays!
BTS sweeps Woodbrier Inn
BTS continued their dominance over Woodbrier Inn by sweeping the two game set. Rookie Bill Thompson led off and went 9 for 9 leading the offensive charge. Brad Strauss kicked in five extra base hits including two inside the park homeruns. Whiskey Dave Petitt also had a homerun and is looking forward to shooting whiskey next Sunday.
BTS opens the fall with a split with Ott's Misfits
Sloppy defense in game one gave Ott's the game but BTS responded in game two for the split. New comer Billy Thompson started his BTS career with an inside the park homerun. Brad Strauss had a big offensive day going for the cycle in game 1 and continue his offensive onslaught in game 2.
BTS drops two to Donkey Punch
The spring season came to a crashing end when Donkey Punch took advantage of their youth and the open field to take two from BTS. Time to regroup and prepare for the fall!
BTS splits with Team Bravo
BTS scored 16 for a win in the first game but the defense staggered in game two and 20 runs were not enough for the split. BTS went well into a third 30 pack for the game 3 win!
BTS splits with Oaklyn Manor
Sloppy defense caused a loss in game 1 but BTS stayed tough and easily took game 2.
BTS sweeps Woodbrier Inn
BTS used the long ball to beat Woodbrier Inn two games. Whiskey, Frank, Buke, and Pally all went long. Strong defense helped to limit Woodbrier to 8 runs on the day!
BTS sweeps Palma's Automotive
BTS came back from a 12 run deficit to power past Palma's in game one. Led by the power of Buke with two monster home runs. BTS defense was stellar turning four double plays and Palma's scored ten runs in one inning and nine runs the rest of the day.
BTS drops two to Revive Painting
The youngsters proved to be too much for the old BTS players. Highlight included a grand slam in game two for Frank Marciano. The batting averages took a hit this week with the exception of Kevin Vance who had a solid four for four for the day!
BTS is swept by 45th Street Pub
The bats of 45th Street Pub were just too much for the BTS defense. Even scoring 20 runs in the second game was not enough to sneak out a victory. Great day from Lucas Jones going long three times.
BTS bats explode vs Penn Metal
The bats were the only thing hotter than the fryer this Sunday as BTS scored 54 runs in two games against Penn Metal. The French fries were the key to the offensive barrage!
BTS drop two to Curran's
BTS had it dismal offensive day scoring 6 and 7 runs to drop 2 games to Curran's Seabox. Lucas Jones and Brad Strauss went deep in two games with very little highlights.
BTS splits with American Millright and Riggers
BTS rode the music to a game one victory but when the music went silent so did the bats. Highlights include a power pop from Pally who enjoyed his three wisemen!
BTS splits Opening Day vs Pewp Dolla All Stars
BTS gave away game 1 but came back with a vengeance in game 2 with the highlight being the power surge from Brian Wonderlin. Brian after a 15 year draught went yard putting BTS up and ahead for good.
BTS worst day in the history of BTS softball
On a cold day in November Bernie Beri retires and the team did not respond. In a round robin tournament BTS got spanked and whipped. Not the way the team wanted to send Bernie into retirement. On the bright side when BTS arrived at Skeeters there were five softball teams represented. BTS of course was the last to leave the bar. Nobody does what we do best better than BTS. Thank you Bernie!
BTS is Nasty vs. Mr. Nasty Time
BTS swept Mr. Nasty Time to advance to the round robin final weekend tournament. After the game in the Annual BTS Cookoff newcomer Michael Beukema upset the favorite Brian Wondergrill Wonderlin to take home the trophy! Nobody is better at doing what we do best!
BTS loses game 3 to Cheesedicks
Cheesedicks backdoored BTS in games one and three leaving a bad taste in our mouths. Game 2 showed BTS grit battling back with Kevin Vance hitting a walkoff three run homerun to win game two.
BTS advances past Radwell's Otts Misfits
It took 3 games including an eight run comeback in game three for BTS to advance to the next round of the playoffs. Game one went to BTS while Game Two was gift wrapped with sloppy defense for ROM. A great day for softball!
BTS Splits with ENR Contracting
When the coach is away and the team changes the lineup the Karma catches up with the team. Good hitting but sloppy defense led to a loss in game two. Insult to injury the coach was given a travel cooler! Be very prepared for a mellow buzz on Sunday!
BTS blasts past Team Bravo
BTS swept Team Bravo while coach was away! The bats were hot and the gloves were solid.
BTS Tattoos DNA Tattooing
BTS scored 29 and 33 runs against DNA Tattooing. MVP of the day was Brian Wonderlin going 3-5 on the day and bringing his strongest grill turnout in weeks. The pork shoulder was cooked to perfection. Prayers go out to Brian Big Toe Walsh who took a line drive while pitching and ended up in the hospital. Hoping for a speedy recovery.
BTS Opens Fall with sweep of Buzzards
The pork shoulder stayed home but BTS wore off the early morning rust to take two from the Buzzards.
BTS offense goes cold in Championship
Goodtimers only scored 19 and 12 but that was all they needed to take the sweep in the bracket championship!
BTS Beats Morning Wood Advances to Championship!
BTS bounced back from a dismal game 1 loss to win games 2 and 3 to advance to the championship! BTS bats started the day quiet but improved each game to earn the victory.
BTS advances past Dom's to get Morning Wood!
Nobody works harder to get a game in than BTS. We showed up early and thanks to Owen we got the field in shape for our playoffs. BTS scored 19 and 18 which was enough for two victories. Next up Morning Wood!
BTS advances past Buzzards
With last weeks MVP in NYC the team stepped up and took two from the scrappy Buzzards. Dan Wiest led the way with 8 hits followed by budding Superstar without Gary, Brad Strauss. Delicious not burnt hot dogs were served promptly after the game and enjoyed by all.
BTS sweeps SJF
Brian Wonderlin did it all including pitching, playing second, assisting on a throw out at home plate, grilling 8 hot dogs and getting a season high four hits to lead BTS to the sweep the week before his vacation! How can this team compete without him?
BTS splits with 45th Street Bar
Game 1 the bats were hot and the fielding strong to win game 1. Game 2 the defense, Miggy, (I would never call anyone out but he wanted me to) took too many balls off his chest which led to 45th having a big inning that we were not able to recover.
BTS takes two from The Collectors
BTS collected 62 total runs in the sweep. Dan Wiest set a BTS record with four walks in one game. Whiskey Dave and Franky Panky went long ball for the first time this season. Bernie Beri got back on the bump to get the win in game 2. Brian Big Toe Walsh collected 11 RBI's on the day in the offensive onslaught.
Wonderlin stars in BTS Sweep!
Brian Wondergrill Wonderlin knocked out five hits, four for extra bases, scored four runs and drove in 7 for the day. He outshined Miggy's three hit shutout in game two. Pete Perno said he was the Brian Wonderlin he remembered from 1981. Even Gig showing up could not keep BTS or Wonderlin down this week!
BTS splits with the Dog Pound
Dog Pound came out late, donned their new jersey's and started the hit parade. They rode two big innings in game one for the victory but the rest of the day belonged to BTS.
BTS splits with Palma's Auto on Mudder's Day
The Calendar may have said May 22, but Mother Nature said it was Mudder's Day. BTS springs back after looking dog tired after the field clean up dropping game one but taking game 2 in typical BTS fashion. Post game treats from our co-sponsor Tony from Riviera! What a great day.
BTS takes two from Blood Sweat and Beers
Great pitching and solid defense lead BTS to two victories. Timely hitting gave enough run production to seal the two wins.
BTS drops two on opening day to Maple Shade VFW
BTS did not take advantage of too many walks and so sloppy fielding by Maple Shade VFW and let two games slip away. There is plenty more softball to play for this veteran bunch.
